Ashwini is one of the Kshipra    Laghu(Small) Nakshatras. In these nakshatras, things like the business of selling, sexual intercourse, learning of the shastras, getting jewels made and wearing them, the 64 kalas, shilpa (sculpture etc.) kala etc. (names of the various kalas or arts) and those things which are advised to be performed in the Nakshatras called chara {like riding an elephant etc., walking in a garden} may be auspiciously begun and performed.
